2 day tour: Marrakech > Merzouga > Fes

DAY 1: MARRAKECH > ATLAS MOUNTAINS > OUARZAZATE > MERZOUGA DESERT CAMEL TREK > DESERT CAMP (1 NIGHT)

We will pick you up from your Riad or the airport early in the morning and we’ll head to the Tizi n’Tichka pass (2260 m). The pass gives you a magnificent view on the high Atlas, beautiful, colourful landscapes and Berber villages. After lunch we continue to OuarzazateSkoura pameryValley of the Roses and the road of Thousand Kasbah’sErfoud, the Moroccan fossil capital. We arrive in Merzouga around 16:00 o’clock.

At the end of the drive in Merzouga, you switch from car to dromedary. In caravan you enter the heart of the Erg Chebbi dunes and enjoy an unforgettable sunset. We spend the night at the desert camp in traditional desert nomad Haim’s, “homes made with dromedary wool”. And if you want, you can sleep under the spectacular sky of stars.

We end the day with a cup of traditional tea (Moroccan or Berber Whisky), a delicious Berber tajine and with local Berber nomad musicians playing traditional drums.

DAY 2: MERZOUGA DESERT > ERRACHIDIA > MIDELT > AZROU > IFRAN > FES

”Date with the Dawn”! A recommended Sahara custom. Wake up early, walk up to the highest dune around and enjoy the magnificent sunrise. After a relaxing start we go back to Merzouga by dromedary.

After a delicious breakfast we leave the desert and drive to Fez. We’ll drive through the famous Azrou cedar forest, Ifran (Moroccan Zwitserland), the magnificent Middle Atlas Mountains, wide planes.

We’ll pass Berber villages and we’ll stop for lunch in Midelt. We’ll continue and stop on a few beautiful panoramic views, like an overview over the flowing Oued Ziz Valley. We’ll drop you off at your Riad or the airport.
